Swimming for dogs is the use of water to help keep them in shape mentally and physically. From a preventative perspective, swimming is great for fitness, body conditioning, and a great source of exercise that is low impact on the bones and joints. Swimming also helps with recovering from surgery and illness. The water reduces gravity on your dogs body, which creates a much safer environment for exercising. Swimming allows for a dogs muscles to be stimulated and exercised without the stress. Swimming offers a dog a fun relaxed workout.
Swimming is great for any dog that needs to achieve a state of well-being. Swimming can help with improving circulation, muscle strength, flexibility, endurance and a much stronger heart. It is wonderful for dogs who are recovering from an injury, dogs that are paralyzed and also dogs suffering from degenerative joint disease.
